How I work

An identity works when someone recognizes it without reading the name. I start by understanding who you're talking to and what you want them to feel, and from there I explore several directions before settling on one: logo, palette and typefaces are decided together, not separately.

The logo comes with its variants (horizontal, stacked, symbol only, on light and on dark) and is tested at small sizes, because it has to read just as well as a favicon as it does on a banner. The palette includes combinations that meet accessibility contrast, so nobody has to invent them later.

Everything is collected in a brand guide with examples of correct and incorrect use. DaniF5 itself is an example: the hand-drawn F5 key, the handwritten headings and the three colors of the language tabs all come from the same idea.

Why it's worth it

  1. People remember you: a clear identity sticks in the mind.
  2. You convey trust from the very first glance.
  3. You have clear rules to apply it without depending on anyone.
